Where to I find the X-Plane log.txt file?

In order for us to debug nearly any issue you are experiencing, it is imperative that you provide us with your log.txt file.

This file is located inside the root X-Plane 11 or X-Plane 12 folder and is simply called log.txt (based on system settings, it may appear as just log if file extension visibility is disabled). This file is recreated every single time you launch X-Plane, so make sure to load the aircraft you are contacting support about before sending the log.

The only way we can properly debug the issue is with the full uploaded log.txt file. Do not take screenshots/pictures of the file, send only a snippet of the file, edit or modify the file in any way, or copy/paste the contents of the file.

Take Command! SR22 Series additional log files:

In addition to the standard log files, we also save engine log files to a separate location. These files can be found in X-Plane 11/Output/SR22, and files for the SR22 Normally Aspirated will be prefixed by NA_ while files for the SR22TN will be prefixed by TN_. We will ask for these specific files when necessary.

Activation failed or exceeded activations — what should I do?

Activation limits and resets are managed by X‑Aviation. Open a ticket at support.x-aviation.com and include your order email, product, and a brief description.

I have an issue with my RealSimGear hardware.

If the behavior changes when RSG hardware is connected or when their plugins are enabled/disabled, check the RealSimGear Help Center first for device setup, firmware, and compatibility notes, and to contact them for 1:1 support.

What are the internet connectivity requirements of TorqueSim Products?

All TorqueSim products require sporadic internet connections to verify license data to activate the aircraft. Our products use X-Aviation activation or Gizmo, as well as stand-alone integrity-validation, which requires a re-activation approximately every 1-2 weeks. By default, this system will try to update the license every time you launch any aircraft in X-Plane.

What are the steps to resolve plugins not loading due to Error Code 126?

If you see the “Error Code = 126 : The specified module could not be found” in the Log.txt file after trying to run one of our aircraft/plugins, this is typically due to the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable not being installed. You can install it by following these steps:

  1. Go to Microsoft’s website to get the latest Visual C++ Redistributable here.
  2. Scroll to the section for “Latest Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable version”
  3. Download the linked file labeled x64 (vc_redist.x64.exe)
  4. Run the installer
  5. Restart your computer

This should hopefully get everything working! If not, please file let us know on the forums and provide a new log file so we can help debug further.

How to fix OpenGPWS Audio System Audio Init Crash?

Due to a bug in the Windows audio interface, in rare circumstances the audio output device may become unselected by Windows, thus leaving no default audio output device. This error can be seen in the log.txt file by:

"OpenGPWS[wav.c:224]: Cannot init audio system: device open failed ... assertion "alc != ((void *)0)" failed:"

This can be easily fixed by going into Windows settings, and setting your default audio device. If a device is already set, try changing it to a different option then setting it back to your desired output.

How to fix the Multi-Threaded Uploader causing a sim crash on load?

On certain graphics drivers, users can experience a crash while loading certain TorqueSim aircraft. This is a result of the failure to initialize the multi-threaded graphics uploader, a system in place to improve performance.

On systems that experience this issue, there is an easy way to disable this:

Locate the aircraft folder in question within X-Plane 11/Aircraft/X-Aviation.

Within the aircraft, open the following folder:

  • For the Take Command! SR20/SR22 G1000: plugins/sr_systems/settings
  • For the Take Command! SR20/SR22 Entegra: plugins/sr_systavi/settings
  • For the Islander BN-2B and BN-2T: plugins/is_systems/settings

In there, open the file settings.cfg and set the line disable_mtuploader to 1
